Christmas time brings out feelings of nostalgia, kindness, and most of all love. Corinth continues to provide the support and love for ACE that we need to thrive. But does Corinth know how much we at ACE Fiber truly love it? We’ve put together a few reasons why we think Corinth is such a magical time at Christmas.
1. The Corinth Christmas Parade
The Corinth Christmas Parade is a town staple that we are honored to be a part of every year. Complete with a visit from Santa, this parade kicks off Christmas during the first weekend of December. With the help of our friends, Amp and Glenn, we live stream our favorite holiday event for everyone to see—especially those who cannot make it out in person!
There’s nothing quite like watching the glimmer of excitement in our children’s eyes as they watch all the floats and incredible cars that go by. If we’re being honest, though, this parade isn’t just for them. I think all the adults get just as excited here as our kids do.
2. The Decorations
Downtown Corinth never fails to look like a winter wonderland with Christmas lights hung on every tree and those perfectly spaced bulbs topping every roof. There’s something about our town being all lit up that makes us feel almost tangible nostalgia.
Of course, we can’t forget our Christmas tree that gets lit up at the parade every year. This tree towers in front of city hall, dotted with green, gold, and red Christmas balls. Beyond downtown, there are countless houses that keep the tradition of putting up Christmas lights alive throughout Corinth, like the Frazier Light Show!
3. The Shopping Local
Shopping local is always our motto because we ask you to shop local by buying our fiber every day. Supporting each other around Christmas time is of the utmost importance to us.
Our favorite place to shop for presents must be the Red Green Market at the Crossroads Museum. Shopping for your mom becomes the epitome of a Christmas rush by roaming up and down the aisles for that perfect thing you saw 20 minutes ago (and should have just bought right then!).
4. The Comfort Food
We might be biased, but we think that Corinth has some of the best Christmas treats around. The comfort food doesn’t end at holiday-themed coffees and sweets, though. Many of the restaurants in town have been standing for decades. BBQ, tacos, noodles, and many other comfort foods make our town really feel like “home” through their deep roots in our community.
5. The People
But above all else, the thing that really makes Corinth a special place at Christmas time is the people. When we walk into a store or a restaurant, we know that we are going to be greeted with Southern hospitality and a “Merry Christmas.”
We know that wherever we go in town, we are surrounded by generations of people that have built this town from the ground up (and some wonderful newcomers, too!). We are surrounded by friends, family, people we have come to cherish, and people we have known for years. And that is something special for us.
Every day we are proud to be from the town of Corinth, but something about Christmas time makes us just want to say it a little louder. Merry Christmas to you and your families this holiday season. We hope you have a happy new year, too!
